Ahoy, Mateys! Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of RUM!

It’s September 19th, a.k.a. TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY!  It’s International, so you may celebrate it even if you’re not in the United States.  Go on!  You know you wanna say it.  Just pretend you have a patch over your eye and a hook in your left hand.  Now say it… say it!  AAARRRGH!  You know you love it!

I figured it’s a Monday without a True Blood recap and we all needed something fun to do.  So when my hubby reminded me it was Talk Like a Pirate Day, my mind started thinking of other interesting things to do with pirates.  I mean, think about it!  Eric, our beloved vampire, might have been a pirate in the 17th century.  He used to be a Viking, and piracy was as good a form of business (albeit illegal) as any other.  He might have seized the opportunity to go viking in a different way…

I don’t know that I could pursue a plot bunny of that magnitude, but perhaps one of my wonderful reader/writer friends will get inspired.  A vampire pirate.  Or an all human cast featuring Eric as the fierce pirate.  Or, better yet, Sookie as the pirate!  She would be great at it, with her telepathy and love for the sun.  She’d feel right at home in the Caribbean.

Or how about someone get inspired to turn in a wonderful pirate-inspired lemon into the Citrus Tree Contest?  We’re still accepting stories with any number of chapters.  Visit the community to read the sample stories and the current entries.  They’re all lemony sweet and oh so yummy!

I have added a new recipe to the blog.  It’s my famous Rum Cake recipe, in time to celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day.  I have made it many, MANY times, and it is a great hit.  It is easy to make and delicious to eat.  It always makes me very happy… VERY happy to eat it and share.  I’ve made it as a gift, as a treat, even as a birthday cake!  Always eat responsibly.

And now… due to the lack of delicious Skarsporny goodness, here’s something different:

These two can NEVER get along!

    • Absolutely appropriate! Thank you for sharing. I’ll look up the story and post the link in a little bit. I wasn’t sure if there were any pirate stories. How cool is that? 😉

What do you think?
